Yaokin Salted Yokan - Salty Red Bean

Love the weird jelly texture. I put it in the fridge and ate it cold. Tasted exactly like red bean flavour

The description says to pair this chunky red bean paste (tsubuan) candy with a cup of warm tea and that It tastes even better when chilled. I ate this at room temperature not paring it with anything, and since I didn't know how tiny these were, I only bought 1, so I wasn't able to try one chilled or try one paired with warm tea to see the difference in taste. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this item. The texture was kind of strange to me, almost like it was jellied in a way. It held together when squeezed out of the tube, but when I tried to pull a piece off of it to share, it was sticky and difficult to take a piece off of it.

Nothing wrong with it, just not something i'd like. Texture was kind of like a moist soft eraser? Taste was fine, texture kind of weird, but it's just my personal opinion.

Its like the filling from a mochi, the redbeans are tasty und melt in your mouth. One of the favourits from our first box.
