WHO CREATED POPIN’ COOKIN’?

Kracie Popin' Cookin'

Popin' Cookin’ was made in 2005 by the Japanese company Kracie. Starting out as a Japanese cotton trading company in 1887, Kracie got into cosmetics in 1934 and then expanded to the food industry in 1964. That’s when the magic began to bubble!

Popin Cookin Pukapon

A few years after exploring food, Kracie launched its very first Japanese DIY candy kit called Pukopon in 1979. Then after that, in 1983 the company came up with another popular Japanese DIY candy kit called Nerunerunerune. Now you know that Kracie really is an expert at DIY candy! They’ve been making it for years!

WHAT COUNTRY IS POPIN’ COOKIN’ FROM?

Well, if it isn’t clear enough, Popin’ Cookin’ kits come from Japan. This shouldn’t come as a surprise! Popin’ Cookin’ is cute, quirky, and extremely imaginative. Of course, it would come from the country responsible for all things anime and all things kawaii! We wouldn’t blame you for wondering though. Popin’ Cookin’ is loved everywhere around the world, not just in Japan.

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS INSIDE POPIN COOKIN’?

Popin Cookin Contents

The best part about Popin’ Cookin’ kits from Kracie is that they’re made with quality ingredients. They’re primarily made with things like seaweed, calcium, corn syrup, sugar, vegetable oil, and gelatin. Add some natural and artificial food colorings and that’s about everything that makes up the edible parts of these unique and wildly creative Japanese candy kits.

HOW CAN YOU MAKE POPIN’ COOKIN’?

Popin Cookin Candy Kits

The fun never ends with Popin’ Cookin’! There are about 20 different kits in the brand. They range from tanoshii cake kits (the very first Popin’ Cookin kits to come out in 2005), tanoshii bento, tanoshii hamburger, tanoshii ramen, and more. Popin Cookin

In September 2023, Kracie decided to add a new kind of kit to the Popin’ Cookin’ brand called the Popin’ Cookin' Chocolatier! It lets kids make five different fancy chocolate treats out of candy. That includes chocolates like chocolate mousse, strawberry mousse, raw chocolate style, caramel cream chocolate, and heart chocolate!

POPIN’ COOKIN’ GOES INTERNATIONAL!

Popin’ Cookin’ is loved everywhere, even outside of Japan! Because of its popularity among children (and don’t forget the kids at heart), Kracie decided to make a US version of the Popin’ Cookin’ candy kits! Like the original Japanese DIY candy kits, these boxes are colorful, creative, and especially yummy. The biggest difference between the two is that the US version has its instructions and most parts of its box written in English.
